TERMS OF USE

Ticker Tape Sports Exchange ("Ticker Tape", "we", "us") is a free online game where athletes and teams trade like stocks. These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Ticker Tape Sports Exchange, based in Los Angeles, California about using the site at tickertapesports.com and anything that comes with it. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them, along with our Rules and Privacy Policy.

Everything on Ticker Tape is played with play money. You can't buy play money, shares or anything else on the site with real money, and nothing on the site, including balances, shares, rankings, contest results and accounts, can be exchanged, sold or cashed out for real money or anything of value, on or off the site. There are no entry fees and no purchases, and we don't award prizes of value.

Buying, selling or trading accounts or play money with anyone, for real money or anything else of value, is against these terms and the Rules, and we'll close accounts involved in it.

Ticker Tape is a game of skill and opinion played for fun. It isn't a sportsbook, a fantasy contest for money, a securities exchange or a financial service, and nothing on the site is betting, investment or financial advice. Prices on the site are set by play-money trading and don't represent the value of anything in the real world.

You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is fine with you using the site.

Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account. Give us a real email address you can receive mail at, since we use it for account emails like confirmations and password resets.

Your username, your rank and your returns are public. You choose whether your all-time balances, holdings and trades are public, as described in the Privacy Policy. Pick a username that isn't offensive, misleading or someone else's name or brand.

Please don't use the site to cheat or to hurt anyone. That means no coordinating trades across accounts to move a price, no bots, scripts or automated trading of your own, no exploiting bugs (tell us about them instead at support), no harassment or hateful content, no attempts to break into accounts or our systems, and no scraping or bulk copying of the site's data.

We run automated house traders, all marked [BOT], as explained on the house traders page. They follow the same trading rules as everyone and can't win contests.

If we believe an account has broken these terms or the Rules, we may reset, suspend or close it, and remove its results from leaderboards and contests.

Ticker Tape is a game we're actively building. We may change how prices, contests, scoring and features work, reset balances or the market, add or remove leagues, players and teams, and correct mistakes in data or results, including reversing trades made on prices that were clearly wrong. We'll try to explain big changes ahead of time, but we can't promise to.

Scores, statistics, schedules and injury information come from public sources and may be late, incomplete or wrong. We do our best, but we can't guarantee them.

Ticker Tape isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the NBA, the NFL, any team, any players' association or any athlete. League, team and player names are used only to describe the real-world sports the game is based on, and they belong to their owners.

The site, its design, code, text and the Ticker Tape name belong to us. You can use the site for your own personal, non-commercial fun. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

The site is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind. It may be slow, down or wrong sometimes, and play money can be lost through bugs, resets or outages. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for anything to do with the site is limited to $100 (USD), since the site is free.

You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account through support. We may suspend or end access to the site, or shut it down, at any time.

We may update these terms; when we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll let account holders know. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Los Angeles County, California, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
